Adnexus wins TransGrid Project

Adnexus Communications has been awarded the Principal Contract to decommission, remove and dispose of TransGrid’s Rural Communications Network. TransGrid owns and operates the high voltage electricity transmission network throughout New South Wales. As part of its overall communications plan, TransGrid has earmarked elements of its aging network as redundant to its future plans. The decommission will involve the removal and environmentally responsible disposal of 37 radio communications sites and associated generator plant, electrical plant and remediation works. Adnexus has developed a significantly detailed project specific safety plan due to the hazardous and remote nature of the works. The company has also developed a rigorous environmental management plan to ensure the project goes smoothly and that a reduce, reuse, recycle approach to the decommission is adopted at every stage. The works are scheduled to be completed in April 2006.
